De Wijnlanden Kids (DWK) School began in January 2013 as a non-profit organisation with only a handful of kiddies. Situated on our estate, it provides a safe environment for our children, having the great advantage of being within walking distance from home. DWK uses both mediums of English and Afrikaans and welcomes boys & girls from 2 to 5 years of age. The school provides an excellent curriculum encouraging every child to develop to their full potential while promoting a balance between play and learn.

To create an exclusive, estate-based pre-school where children can learn and play within a stimulating and safe environment that serves as a ‘home away from home’ combined with the structure of schooling.

At DWK, we believe that we need to function as an extension of each family, sharing love and concern for all children and working together to build a solid foundation for their happiness and success. We want to offer ‘peace of mind’ to each parent by providing a high standard of child care and early education, along with a structured programme.

At DWK we follow a daily program which includes learning through play in a developmentally appropriate way, with a balance between free play and teacher guided activities. Structured play activities will include: Fantasy Play, Dress up, Water Play, Sand Play, Modelling Clay, Construction, Jigsaw puzzles, and other activities that will stimulate your child and ensure their times with us are enjoyable! In addition, we may also offer extra-curricular activities during school times such as baking, computers, music & movement, dance & various other art & craft activities.
